Review Our Policies and Procedures:

  • Potential residents must have completed a drug and alcohol program in jail/prison or a minimum of 30 days of inpatient addiction treatment.
  • Random drug testing/breathalyzer testing – weekly/bi-weekly. (Or at house parent’s discretion)
  • Zero tolerance policy – If resident tests positive, client must go back to at least 30 days of inpatient addiction treatment (Demascus Road, New Orleans Mission, Home of Grace, etc.)
  • Zero tolerance on violence or sexual misconduct, if someone assaults or threatens someone else they will be asked to leave permanently and/or police will be notified for removal.
  • No sexual offenders will be allowed through our program.
  • Residents will stay for 6 months to 1 year depending on how much time the individual needs to recover.
  • Residents will be under curfew every night after 8:30 p.m.
  • Residents will be required to have a full-time job or a full-time college curriculum of 12+ hours.
  • Residents will participate in fiscal responsibility class, as we will help them in setting up bank accounts and actively get them saving their $ instead of impulsively spending it. This is in hopes that by the time they are finishing, they will have a nice little nest egg to get their own place.
  • Residents will maintain both the inside and outside of the home. (Lawn maintenance, sweeping/mopping, dishes, laundry, dusting, garden care)
  • Residents will be required to do one addiction class per week through Escape Addiction.
  • Residents will be required to attend two/three group meetings per week. (One Friday at noon through Escape Addiction, AA, Christian 12 steps recovery meeting)
  • Residents will be strongly encouraged to participate in fitness classes provided on site for a very low cost ($10) from personal trainer Kayla McFadden with Anytime Fitness.
  • Residents will pay 40% of their income per month program fee. We will try to provide transportation for those that do not have their own. (Initially this will be through volunteer drivers)
  • Residents will be required to attend our in-house Bible studies every week.
  • Freedom Lighthouse will establish a network of potential employers so that residents will be placed into jobs ASAP upon entry into Freedom Lighthouse. There will be a 2-3 week grace period initially while in search of job. During this grace period, they will have to complete a mandatory 20 hours of volunteer service.
  • Residents will meet with the E.D. Jarrod Bourgeois upon entry and immediately fill out a schedule of their time.
  • Residents will be provided dinner foods and will be required to rotate cooking duties and will eat dinner together each night as a family.
  • Addiction Recovery Coach training will be available for residents to go through while staying at Freedom Lighthouse but they will have to cover their own cost. ($1300 and training is online)
